We PROUDLY Support Leg Up Farm
What is Leg Up Farm?
Leg Up Farm is a therapy center in York County, PA for children with special needs. They serve infants, children, adolescents and young adults up to the age of 21. Able Services offers day program services to adults with special needs.
Both Leg Up Farm and Able Services are the vision of Louie Castriota and his wife Laurie who in 1997 merged their love of children and animals with their desire to give back to the community by creating a therapeutic riding center for children with special needs. Just six months later their daughter Brooke was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease, a metabolic disorder that causes both cognitive and motor function delays, strengthening the Castriota’s vision and resolve for Leg Up.
On the “farm,” children are given individually tailored treatment plans to assist them in reaching their full potential. This is achieved through therapies such as behavioral health and physical therapy, and therapeutic horsemanship.
Four Seasons Produce, Inc. is thrilled to support Leg Up Farm in their efforts in the community and the incredible work they’re doing with all those in need of their assistance. For the second year in a row we have sponsored the feeding and care of one of their therapy horses, Corduroy (check out Cordy below).

SPOTLIGHT on Leg Up Farmers Market!
Leg Up Farmers Market just opened up for business on March 8, 2016. The market is a brand new, unique, full-service natural foods grocery store located in York, PA.
What makes them unique is their purpose. Leg Up Farmers Market was created to help support two local nonprofits, Leg Up Farm and Able Services. The majority of the market’s profits will be donated to support these two organizations.
Able Service offers programs like Able-Printers which allows the adults to work in a business setting and Able-Growers giving them the skills for growing and managing plants. Both of which are located on the same property as the new Leg Up Farmers Market and aid in pre-vocational training, activities of daily living, social skills, communication and other skills.
The concept of opening a natural health food store for the purpose of generating funds for their non-profit organizations is not only unique, but also quite admirable. Four Seasons Produce is proud to be a supplier of fresh produce to the new market.
Best of Luck Leg Up Farmer’s Market!
