PRODUCE INDUSTRY VETERAN, WES JONES SR, PASSED AWAY ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2023
Produce industry veteran, Wes Jones Sr., passed away on September 22, 2023. Wes Sr. was known for his memorable laugh, merchant expertise, determination, and competitive spirit. He will be dearly missed by family, colleagues, and friends around the industry.
Wes Sr. got his start working in the produce departments of supermarket groups in the Baltimore-Washington DC area. In 1993 he moved his family to Ephrata, PA to serve on the Four Seasons Produce merchandising team. While at Four Seasons in the ‘90s and early 2000s, Wes Sr. lead the “Garden Pride” club-store produce program and later the Clemens Markets produce program. Wes Sr. then moved on to director roles at Global Organics in Florida, W. Lee Flowers in South Carolina, and The MarketPlace in Bermuda. He returned to Four Seasons in 2018 as a value-added category buyer and served in this role up to the time of his sudden passing.
Family was very important to Wes Sr. He was a dedicated husband, a father to two daughters and a son, and a grandpa to four. Wes Sr. took great pride in the fact that his son, Wes Jones II, worked his way at Four Seasons Produce from warehouse operations to quality control to sales to account management to his current role of Sales Manager, Key Accounts. Wes Sr. also loved to enjoy the Florida sunshine with his wife, Susan.
