Earth Day – Not Just One Day a Year
At Four Seasons, although Earth Day is April 22nd, we truly believe that making sustainable choices is important every day of the year, because as farmer Wendell Berry once said, “The Earth is what we all have in common.”
As a part of Earth Week, Four Seasons Produce will once again celebrate by showing our support to the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA). We will be donating $0.25 for every case of organic produce sold between 4/21 – 4/27 to support PASA.
PASA originated in 1992 and is now the largest statewide, member-based sustainable farming organization in the U.S. By drawing growers together to educate one another, they “seek to improve the economic viability, environmental soundness, and social responsibility of food and farming systems in Pennsylvania across the country.”
You may be asking yourself, “How can I help participate and support PASA?” Joining our donation efforts this year include Lady Moon Farms ($1.00/case of their brand sold), I Love Produce ($0.50/case of their brand sold), and Mother Earth Mushrooms ($0.50/case of their brand sold). By specifically purchasing any of their products, you will directly help PASA receive donations, in addition to $0.25 per case of any other organic produce items you purchase!
At Four Seasons, not only do we want to help make a difference in supporting local, sustainable agriculture, but we put our passion of sustainability to practice in our office. Did you know that in 2013 we had a waste diversion rate of 92% – that’s 5.7 million pounds of recycling! Don’t forget, that every little bit helps! “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe
